Animal Friends

Hiya! I’m a grey wolf. ^^

We're forest animals. As you know, we're a grey wolf, red fox, otter, stoat and flying squirrel respectively.
And one which looks like a raccoon is a tanuki. He is the Dog family animal. His fellows inhabit in Eastern Asia - Japan, Korea, China and Russia -.

Well? You know tanuki? Ah, I heard his fellows have spread in West Russia, Finland, Poland, Germany and other European countries recently. They were originally brought by people from Eastern Asia to West Russia for the fur trade. I think they will be able to be familiar animals in Europe, because they are very flexible animals. At last, they have become to inhabit in the big city like Tokyo in Japan. They say the city life is not bad except the terrible enemies which are called the “Car”.

Today, animals which had inhabited in Japan are gathering in here. “Had inhabited”… Yes, unfortunately my fellows “wolves” and otters have already extinct in Japan. The wolves have extinct for over one hundred years. Recently, deer have increased in Japanese forest because of our extinction. They’re devastating Japanese nature now though they are not bad...

I heard American reintroduced us wolves in the Yellow Stone National Park in 1995. Its project has succeeded. I hope we will be reintroduced in Japanese forest too… someday. If people do it, I will cooperate in regulation of the deer population.
