Takeru. :)

I imaged his costume from Yoroi and Kabuto. Yoroi is a traditional Japanese armor which was used by Samurai. Kabuto is a helmet used with a yoroi.

An golden something on his head is Kuwagata. Kuwagata is a kabuto’s decoration. I guess its shape originates from stag beetles and deer.
A red something on his shoulders are Osode. Osode is a part of a yoroi. It protects a shoulder from the attacks.

By the way ,the symbol behind him is Kamon. Kamon is Japanese family heraldic symbol. Almost all of Japanese have Kamon.

This kamon is “Taka no Ha”. It means “Falcon’s plume”. Two plume cross in the circle. It is one of the popular kamon in Japan. Especially samurais were fond of using this, because they hoped they lived like a brave falcon.

And as this is my family’s kamon, I love this. :)

I like this very much, and thank you for explaining the parts of the armor. Also the kamon. It is one my own favorites. I collect kimono and haori, and have many items with mon or kamon on them. I did not know the name of this kamon, but have heard it called hawk feathers, so I guess it could be either hawk or falcon. Or is there a Japanese word that means hawk rather than falcon?

Thank you! ^^
Falcons are "hayabusa", hawks are "taka", and eagles are "washi" in Japanese language. :)
Japanese call this kamon "Taka no Ha". It means "feathers of a hawk". ^^
