Daikakuji Kyoto

Oosawaike[大沢池](a ponds are called "ike"[池] in Japanese) at the side of Daikakuji[大覚寺] Temple which has a history in Sagano[嵯峨野] Kyoto[京都]

Sagano is a suburb of Kyoto which is Japanese old Capital.
There are lots of old temples and buildings in Sagano.
They are surrounded beautiful forests and mountains. The scenery there is really beautiful. Ancient noble people in Kyoto loved Sagano as a resort.

Daikakuji is one of old temples in Kyoto. One of Japanese successive emperors Go-uda Tenno[後宇多天皇] lived there after a abdication in 13C.
Osawaike is a pond which is lying at the side of the temple as one of apparatus in the garden of an retired Imperial residence.

In this season, this pond-side is filled with beautiful colouring of cherry blossoms.
