Sakura(桜=Cherry blossom) is blooming terribly early in Japan this year because of an abnormal weather. Blooming began the last week and Tokyo is in full bloom just now.
(The normal sakura season in Tokyo have always been one week from the end of March to the first of April.)
I went to Chidori-ga-Fuchi(千鳥ヶ淵) yesterday(22th Mar). Chidori-ga-buchi was one of the big moats of Edo Castle(江戸城) which had been a residence of Tokugawa(徳川) shogun(将軍) clan in Edo period(1603-1868). (Edo is ancient name of Tokyo.)
Chidori-ga-Fuchi is very famous as one of the best view point of blooming sakura in Tokyo.
A lot of Japanese people enjoyed Hanami(花見) -walking under trees of sakura and looking beautiful flowers-. There are lots of boats on moats. I guess it's also brilliant to go boating on the moat for looking sakura.
You must come to Japan in the sakura season someday. It's the most beautiful season in Japan.
