Description
Sunset of Old city Ayutthaya in Thailand
Ayutthaya (Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya) (Thai: พระนครศรีอยุธยา) was the capital of Ayutthaya dynasty in Thailand. Ayutthaya locates to about 60km north of Bangkok. Ayutthaya was founded in 1350 by King U Thong. The population of Ayutthaya perhaps reached 1,000,000 in 17C. Then, Ayutthaya was one of the biggest cities on the world.
In 1767 Ayutthaya was destroyed by the Burmese army. Ayutthaya dynasty was collapsed. New Thai dynasty moved the new capital to Bangkok.
The ruins of Ayutthaya old city established as "the Ayutthaya historical park".
Present Ayutthaya is one of the beautiful rural cities in Thailand. There are a lot of ruins and temples in Ayutthaya. Travellers sometimes use a bicycle for looking around them. I also used a bicycle then. I enjoyed the one day in Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was really beautiful place. ^^
This Photo is Wat Mahathat (Thai วัดมหาธาตุ). "Wat" means a "temple" of Thai Buddhism.
In that day, Ayutthaya is in an absolute fine weather. The tropical sun glared down on me all day. I was able to look a beautiful sunset. The ruins of temples glittered in the beautiful red sun. It was one of the most beautiful scenes in my travel in South East Asia.

old but masterful photo of great architecture - I love those colors and water reflection!
